Windstar Cruises ships are getting a new Mediterranean-Asian fusion restaurant across its fleet, starting with the Star Breeze in February.
Basil + Bamboo will be a complimentary specialty restaurant, taking the place of Spanish restaurant Cuadro 44 across the line's fleet this year, including on its newest ship, the Star Seeker, which is slated to debut in December.
Windstar said the small venue will offer an intimate dining experience with limited seating.
Starters will include miso soup, tuna tartare, a sampler of sashimi, nigiri and maki. The main entrée options will include a miso black cod with pea puree, sliced Iberico ham and pickled wood ear mushrooms. Another dish planned for the menu is free-range young chicken served with Jerusalem artichokes and yuzu kosho.
The dessert menu will include a citrus olive oil cake with lemon cream served with Greek yogurt ice cream. Another sweet option will be the chocolate caramel cremeux served with ginger-cinnamon hibiscus ice cream and sake caviar.
