Flamingo Las Vegas is looking to make a splash with a new concept for its Go Pool area this spring.
Gone are the tropical-themed lagoons, caves and waterfalls. The Flamingo's midcentury-modern and retro-deco architecture were among
the inspirations for the design changes. It also aimed to convey a contemporary
beach resort vibe with pastels and soft, earthy tones, resort officials
said.
"For decades, the famous Go Pool has been a destination favorite during
pool season, and we recognize our guests' loyalty to the brand," said
Dan Walsh, senior vice president and general manager of Flamingo Las
Vegas. "This project is not a renovation; it's a completely different
pool complex that was constructed from the ground up."
What's new?
The centerpiece of the $20 million Go Pool redesign project is a
multipool complex for guests age 21 and older and a 30-seat swim-up bar.
There will be five separate, temperature-controlled pools on several
levels in all.
Among the other features are 33 VIP cabanas with in-water couches and daybeds. Cool-deck surfacing, night lighting and a powerful sound system for DJs and other entertainment will be among the amenities.
A 50-foot-wide "rain curtain" waterfall and adjoining grotto pool will cascade into the main pool. There will be 55 palm trees and 35 additional tree varieties transplanted from the original Go Pool complex.
In addition to poolside bites from the kitchen, the reimagined menu will also have shareable cocktails, frozen daquiris and mojitos.
The pool complex is part of the Flamingo's multiphased transformation project that includes several new restaurants, including Pinky's by Vanderpump, Gordon Ramsay Burger and Havana 1957.
The Go Pool will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Both hotel and nonhotel guests 21 and older will have complimentary general admission on a first-come, first-served basis.
